Week of 4/16
Grade 5B ELA / Math
Grade 5 Specialized Science / Social Studies

Math: We will continue working with fractions and mixed numbers while using them to solve real world word problems.

ELA: We will work on using sequencing skills, figurative language and context clues as we prepare for PARCC.

Social Studies: Our focus continues on American symbols and their meanings.

Science: We will learn about bodies of water and animals who live there. We will also conduct an experiment using lollipops!

Please check your child's folder and planner daily for assignments.

Please let me know if there were any problem areas so that I may work with your child the next day on those skills.

My name is Mrs. Golembiewski, however, the students call me
“Mrs. G.” This will be my nineteenth year at Highlands Elementary School. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Special Education. My background will enable me to provide an enriching school experience for your child. I am looking forward to an exciting and fulfilling year with the students!

Open communication is the key to a successful school year for your child. Please feel free to express any questions or
concerns to me throughout the year by writing a note or contacting me at school.
